New Delhi: The United States launched a series of military strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities, Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, late Saturday, with President Donald Trump hailing the operation as a “very successful attack” in a statement from the White House.
U.S. Representative Scott Perry described the bombing as a potentially decisive action that could mark the “hopefully final role” in a broader mission.
As the world digests the development, a key question emerges: Do you think it’s over?
In a post on X, President Trump announced that the U.S. military, utilising B-2 bombers, targeted Iran’s underground nuclear sites with precision.
Trump said, "We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter."
Congressman Scott Perry (R-PA), a combat veteran and member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, responded to the strikes in an X post, calling them a “decisive action” led by Trump. Perry suggested the bombing might represent the “hopefully final role” in a safe and successful mission, thanking the president for his leadership.
Perry said, "Iran is a terrorist state responsible for the deaths of thousands of American Service Members and countless innocent people around the world. Its nuclear program was always a military weapons program, which previous US leaders negligently and irresponsibly allowed to continue. Only one nation has the capability to safely neutralize this threat, and the world is now safer because of President Trump’s decisive action. Congratulations, prayers, and praise to the US Military who made this a safe and successful mission; hopefully, this is their final role in this dangerous and delicate situation."
His remarks hint at optimism that the strikes could conclude a significant chapter, though he provided no specifics on what might follow.
The strikes come amid heightened tensions between Iran and Israel, with the U.S. aligning its actions in support of Israel’s efforts to disrupt Tehran’s nuclear program.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has indicated that the targeted facilities contained no nuclear material at the time of the attack, ruling out immediate radioactive risks.
