Raipur, Jul 17 (PTI) Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday dedicated the 'Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision @ 2047' document to people and said it is not just a compilation of words, but a concrete resolve and clear direction to build a self-reliant, prosperous and developed state.
Dedicating the document at an event held here at a hotel, he said it will provide guidance to make Chhattisgarh one of the leading and developed states of India.
"The vision document is inspired by the resolution of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji's developed India @ 2047. The Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision @2047 document has been prepared with a clear action plan, in which short-term goals have been set till 2030, medium-term goals till 2035 and long-term goals till 2047," Sai said.
"It is a matter of pride for us that Chhattisgarh is among those selected states that have prepared this document. Through this document, economic, social and cultural development will be promoted in a balanced manner through 10 ten missions in 13 major areas ranging from agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, culture, logistics and IT to organic farming and education. Keeping in mind the geographical location of Raipur, a logistics policy has been prepared which will give impetus to e-commerce," he added.
There is an ambitious target to increase the state's GDP (Gross Domestic Product) from Rs 5 lakh crore to Rs 11 lakh crore by 2030 and to Rs 75 lakh crore by 2047 under this vision, he said.
To strengthen the agriculture-based economy, schemes like Krishi Unnati Mission, organic farming, export-based possibilities and Kisan Samman Nidhi will be effective, Sai said, adding a target has been set to increase the income of farmers by more than 10 times by 2047.
"Steel production will be increased from 28 million tonnes to 45 million tonnes by 2030 in the state. It is a matter of pride that Chhattisgarh's steel has been used in the country's tallest bridge built on Chenab river in Jammu and Kashmir. Coal production will be increased from 207 million tonnes to 437 million tonnes, electricity production will be taken to the top position in the country from the current 30 thousand megawatts," the CM informed.
Iron ore production will be increased from 46 to 100 million tonnes, while Chhattisgarh has become the first state in the country where successful auction of lithium mineral block has taken place, he added.
"From 1853 to 2014, only 1100 kilometres of railway lines were laid in the state, which will be doubled by 2030. Schemes like Bodhghat Project will give new expansion to irrigation and power generation. Unemployment rate in the state is 2.7 per cent and the target is to bring it down to less than 1 per cent by 2047. Skill development training is being given a new direction in collaboration with Pan-IIT institutions," he said.
Semiconductor plants and AI data centre parks are being developed in the IT sector, he added.
"More than 350 policy and administrative reforms have been made in the last one-and-half years. The state has received investment proposals worth Rs 6.75 lakh crore. Former prime minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji had laid the foundation of our state, and it has progressed under the leadership of PM Modi Ji," he said.
Sai said it is very meaningful to dedicate this vision document to the people when the state is celebrating the silver jubilee of its foundation as Atal Nirman Varsh.
"This document is a symbol of public participation, which contains the dreams and resolutions of three crore people. Not only experts and departments cooperated in preparing it, but suggestions from the public were also included through working groups, division level public dialogue and More Sapna More Vikas Chhattisgarh portal," Sai said.
"When India has become the centre of global hopes under the visionary leadership of PM Modi, Chhattisgarh is also ready to play a leading role in the direction of making India developed. We are creating new records of development with a zero tolerance policy against terrorism and Naxalism," he said.
State Finance and Planning Minister OP Choudhary said Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision @2047 presents a multi-dimensional strategy in areas such as welfare of citizens, inclusive economic development, good governance and investment promotion.
"In this document, short-term (till 2030), medium-term (till 2035) and long-term (till 2047) goals have been clearly defined, which ensure the direction of all-round development. A target has been set to double the size of the state's economy in the next five years and to increase GDP 15 times and per capita income 10 times by 2047," he said.
Chhattisgarh will be developed as a major centre of investment in industry, service, health, education and infrastructure, Choudhary added.
