Johnson Controls-Hitachi appoints Sanjay Sudhakaran as MD for India & South Asia

New Delhi, Jul 3 (PTI) Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning (JCH) on Monday said it has appointed Sanjay Sudhakaran as Managing Director, India & South Asia region.

Sudhakaran will take over the position from Gurmeet Singh, the incumbent managing director, who has decided to step down.

His appointment is effective from July 1, 2023, according to a statement from Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning (JCH) India Ltd.

Prior to this, he was the managing director and CEO of Schneider Electric Infrastructure India.

Gurmeet Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of JCH India, announced his intention to leave JCH to pursue other interests, the statement said.

"Sanjay Sudhakaran will succeed Gurmeet Singh, who has stated his intention to pursue other interests, has stepped down as Chairman and Managing Director on June 30, 2023," said JCH India, which sells residential AC under the brand name Hitachi.

As part of the transition, Singh would remain as Senior Advisor to JCH India till September 30, 2023.

Sudhakaran started his career with Carrier Corporation in 1993 and was the regional director for ASEAN and India when he left in 2011.

He has also worked with United Technologies, Otis Elevator and Schneider Electric at various positions.

Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India is a joint venture company of Johnson Controls, US and Hitachi Global Life Solutions, Japan. It operates in room air conditioners to commercial air conditioners, including cassette air conditioners, ductable air conditioners and VRF systems.

Headquartered in Ahmedabad, JCH India operates a manufacturing plant at Kadi in Gujarat. PTI KRH DRR SHW
