New Delhi, Jul 16 (PTI) Drug firm Lupin on Wednesday said it has launched a generic medication to treat inflammation and pain in the eye.
The company has launched Loteprednol Etabonate Ophthalmic Suspension, a bioequivalent to Bausch & Lomb Inc's Lotemax Ophthalmic Suspension, in the US market, the Mumbai-based drug maker said in a statement.
Loteprednol Etabonate Ophthalmic Suspension, 0.5 per cent, is a steroid medication used to treat inflammation and pain in the eye, particularly after surgery or due to conditions like allergic conjunctivitis.
It is also indicated for the treatment of post-operative inflammation following ocular surgery.
As per the IQVIA MAT May 2025 data, Loteprednol Etabonate Ophthalmic Suspension had estimated annual sales of USD 55 million in the US.
