Chennai, Jul 16 (PTI) Manali Petrochemicals Ltd inaugurated its expanded Propylene Glycol plant here, marking its commitment to the Centre’s ‘Make in India’ vision, a top official said.

With this expansion, production capacity will increase by 50,000 kilotonnes per annum (KTPA), in addition to the existing 22,000 KTPA.

The state-of-the-art facility will begin operations upon receiving the 'Consent to Operate' from the Tamil Nadu State Pollution Control Board, the city-headquartered company on Wednesday, said in a statement.

Manali Petrochemicals Ltd aims to significantly reduce India’s dependence on imported Propylene Glycol and meet the rising demand from domestic and industrial consumers.

The expansion is also expected to strengthen India’s position as a competitive global manufacturing hub, the company said.

Commenting on the milestone, Manali Petrochemicals Ltd Chairman Ashwin Muthiah said, "I congratulate the MPL team on the capacity expansion and the inauguration of the expanded Propylene Glycol plant today. This state-of-the-art facility reflects our commitment to sustainable growth, meeting evolving customer needs, and reinforcing our market leadership." The strategic expansion reaffirms MPL’s support for the 'Make in India' initiative by bringing advanced manufacturing capabilities to the domestic market, it added. PTI VIJ SSK VIJ SSK KH
