Physis Capital raises Rs 200 cr for USD 50 mn fund; expects final close in 6-9 months

New Delhi, Jun 18 (PTI) Growth-stage venture fund Physis Capital has secured over Rs 200 crore funding for its USD 50 million (about Rs 432 crore) maiden fund, and expects to complete its final close within the next six to nine months.

Institutional investors and family offices, including SUD Life, Haldiram's Family Office, Japan's Dai-ichi Life Holdings, Lotus Holdings, and Narayana Nethralaya, have joined as limited partners (LPs), according to a company statement.

Physis Capital plans to build a portfolio of 15–20 tech-driven startups by 2026, with initial investments ranging from USD 1 million to USD 1.5 million and follow-on funding of up to USD 4 million for high-performing startups.

"We are on track to build a portfolio of 15+ companies by the first half of next year. At present, we have 8 deals in the pipeline and are confident about issuing term sheets for 3–4 of them in the coming months.

"These investments are expected to close within the next 2 quarters. The pipeline spans diverse sectors, including healthtech, fintech, consumer brands, and quick commerce," Vinay Bansal, General Partner, Physis Capital, said.
