Hyderabad, Jul 15 (PTI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana arrested a retired Engineer in Chief, Irrigation and command area development (CAD) Department, in connection with a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case against him.
A case of disproportionate assets to the known sources of income was registered against C Muralidhar Rao for allegedly acquring assets by "indulging in unlawful practices and by dubious" means during his service, a release from ACB said.
Searches were conducted at the house of the accused officer and 11 other places belonging to him and his relatives, it said.
During the searches several properties, including a villa, four flats, two commercial buildings, one solar power project of 2 KW, 11 acres of agricultural land, three four-wheelers, gold ornaments and bank deposits were unearthed.
The searches are still going on and the market value is expected to be much higher than the official value, the ACB said.
The accused officer is arrested and further investigation is in progress, the release added. PTI VVK VVK ROH
