The announcement of this selection was simultaneously made on Stephen Colbert’s late-night show and on the magazine’s website on Monday Night. Interestingly, Chris Evans succeeds Paul Rudd, another Avenger, who served as Captain America for almost ten years in Marvel’s epic superhero movies.

“My mom will be so happy,” Evans told in an interview with People’s magazine for its cover story, which goes on sale on this Friday. “She’s proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about.” He added “Really this will just be a point of bullying. It’s ripe for harassment.” In the interview, Evans spoke about finding a better work-life balance. He said, “The most enjoyable aspect of my career right now is feeling secure enough to take my foot off the gas.”

Since his debut in the 2000s, Evans has indeed come a long way. While he played the superhero roles in two “Fantastic Four” films which were released in 2005 and 2007, he gained fame only after playing the role of “Captain America: The First Avenger”. Evans has played a wholesome role in 10 marvel movies. Putting down his shield after rescuing the Universe in “Avengers: Endgame” in 2019.

Evans told People he’s thinking about getting married and starting a family, he said “That’s absolutely something I want.” He shared that he doesn’t like to discuss about his private life much. “Some things you want just for you, or just for family and my friends”.

Talking about the latest milestone that he has turned, he said “It’s something that as I become old and saggy I can look back on and say ‘I remember then… I’m lucky to be in the discussion in any capacity.”
