Duffer Brothers dismiss Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour bullying claims on 'Stranger Things' set

Los Angeles, Nov 7 (PTI) "Stranger Things" stars Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour were all smiles as they posed for the cameras during a promotional event for the series just days after a report claimed that the actor, who plays Eleven in the series, had levelled bullying allegations against Harbour.

And now co-creator Ross duffer and director Shawn Levy have dismissed the claim, adding that the cast is more like a family that has been together for 10 years, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

“Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal onset matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them. So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy," Ross Duffer, who has co-created the sci-fi series with brother Matt, told THR.

"Stranger Things" director and executive producer Shawn Levy said ensure that everyone feels safe on the sets of the series.

“At the end of the day, that’s the job. You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so.” “I’ve read a bunch of stories and they range from wildly inaccurate to… there’s so much noise around it. But the truth is that we view this crew and this cast as family, and so we treat each other with respect, and that’s always been bedrock.” Netflix or the representatives for Brown and Harbour have not commented on the controversy.

A story in the UK papers claimed that Brown had filed a harassment and bullying claim against the 50-year-old actor, who plays her adoptive father Jim Hopper.

The final season of "Stranger Things" will be released in three parts. The first four episodes in Part 1 will release on November 26. The episodes for the part two release on December 25, with the feature-length series finale hitting both the streaming and select theatres on December 31. PTI BK BK BK
