James Cameron saw 'RRR' twice, says Rajamouli after meeting director

Los Angeles: Filmmaker SS Rajamouli and music composer MM Keeravani are on "top of the world" after their recent meeting with Hollywood veteran James Cameron, who praised their film "RRR" and shared that he saw the global blockbuster twice.

Rajamouli and Keeravani are both in the US to attend various international award ceremonies where "RRR" is nominated in several categories.

The duo met Cameron at the Critics' Choice Awards (CCA) where "RRR" won the Best Foreign Language Film and Best Song for Telugu track "Naatu Naatu"

"The great James Cameron watched RRR... He liked it so much that he recommended to his wife Suzy and watched it again with her. Sir I still cannot believe you spent a whole 10 minutes with us analyzing our movie. As you said I AM ON TOP OF THE WORLD... Thank you both (sic)," Rajamouli posted on Twitter.

Cameron, known for directing Hollywood classics such as "The Terminator", "Aliens", "Titanic" and "Avatar" franchise, praised the film's score for being unique.

"The great James Cameron has watched RRR twice and gave feedback on my score !!! Ocean full of excitement... And he complimented on how the music in RRR movie varies in the volume and body unlike in typical western movies. A great honour and recognition for my work," Keeravani said.

The Telugu magnum opus, headlined by Ram Charan and Jr NTR, was nominated in five categories at the CCA -- Best Picture, Best Director (Rajamouli), Best Foreign Language film, Best Visual Effects (V Srinivas Mohan) and Best Song (Naatu Naatu).

"RRR" is a a pre-Independence fictional story focusing on two real-life Indian revolutionaries in the 1920s -- Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR). The movie also features Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in special appearance.
