New Delhi, Jul 15 (PTI) "Mirzapur" star Shweta Tripathi on Tuesday announced that her maiden production film has been titled "Mujhe Jaan Na Kaho Meri Jaan", where she will feature alongside Tillotama Shome.
Sanjoy Nag, who earlier directed Tripathi in the 2023 movie "Good Morning Sunshine", will helm the project, which is set to begin at the end of 2025.
"Mujhe Jaan Na Kaho Meri Jaan" is a "queer love story that aims to break stereotypes and spark meaningful conversations", according to a press release.
The plot details have been kept under wraps.
Tripathi, also known for starring in movies such as "Masaan", "Haraamkhor", "Cargo" as well as the Netflix series "Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein", had announced the project in March this year.
In a statement, the 40-year-old actor said the film is very close to her heart.
"This film is very close to my heart — not just because it’s my first as a producer, but because of what it stands for. Queer love stories deserve to be told with honesty, beauty, and nuance.
"Having Tillotama on board makes this even more special. She’s not just a phenomenal actor, she’s also someone I deeply admire and trust. We’ve been wanting to work together for a long time, and I can’t think of a better project to begin this journey with," Tripathi said.
Shome was most recently seen in the second season of the critically-acclaimed Prime Video show "Paatal Lok" and the Bengali movie "Baksho Bondi", which was screened at the Berlin International Film Festival. PTI ATR RB RB
