Peshawar, Jul 5 (PTI) Three terrorists of the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in an intelligence-based joint operation by the Counter Terrorism Department and local police in northwestern Pakistan, officials said on Saturday.
The encounter took place near the Bhitanni Canal, close to Hurama village in Lakki Marwat district's Sarai Naurang area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province late on Friday.
The slain men were identified as Waseemullah alias Umar Khattab, Qudratullah alias Abu Bakar, and Hijratullah alias Hijrat.
According to Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officials, they were involved in IED blasts and attacks on police personnel, and were wanted for the killings of Waheedullah, Anwar Sher and Idrees, all policemen of different ranks.
No security personnel were injured in the operation, police said. A search is underway in the area to track down possible accomplices. PTI AYZ SKS SKS NPK NPK
