Indian national nabbed with marijuana worth 5.7 kg in Nepal

Kathmandu: A 29-year-old Indian woman was arrested at Nepal's Tribhuvan International Airport for allegedly smuggling over 5.7 kilograms of marijuana, Nepal Police said on Tuesday.

Leiyawon Phungthar was caught during a routine security check at the airport's arrival area after she landed from Bangkok on an Air Asia flight, police said.

She was handed over to the Nepal Police Drugs Control Unit for further investigation and legal action, police added.
