New Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Tuesday appointed Maryam Nawaz Sharif, daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, as the Senior Vice-President of PML (N).
Announcing the appointment on Twitter, Shehbaz Sharif expressed his confidence in Maryam.
I have appointed @MaryamNSharif as senior vice-president of PML-N. She has the drive, determination & experience to lead the party's organizational matters. I have no doubts that she will very effectively galvanise our party’s rank & file with the vision of our Quaid Nawaz Sharif

Maryam enterd politics in 2012 but became politically active in 2017 after her father Nawaz Sharif was disqualified and convicted by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in relation to the Panama Papers case and money laundering through having an employment in UAE.
