Containers put outside Imran Khan's residence in Lahore's Zaman Park area

New Delhi: With the Punjab Police’s deadline to hand over the 30-40 terrorists allegedly hiding in Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence ending, the Pakistan government is reported to be preparing for a big action against the former prime minister.

The roads leading to Zaman Park were blocked Thursday, with a container placed on one and barricades blocking the other, reported the Dawn newspaper.

However, the newspaper’s correspondent on the ground Waseem Riaz said that the Lahore police have “no intention” of conducting an operation at the PTI Chairman’s residence in Lahore.

According to him, the police presence is not in huge numbers, indicating that they do not intend to raid the PTI chief’s house at the moment. Riaz added that PTI workers were not gathered at the location either.

Riaz said that the situation around former prime minister Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence in Lahore is calm so far.

The Canal Road has been blocked on both sides while Thandi Sarak was also closed for traffic. Riaz said police officials were also present in the area.
