New Delhi: Russian authorities on Wednesday released a purported video of drone attack on Kremlin alleging an assassination attempt on President Putin by Ukraine.
Earlier, Russia accused Ukraine of attempting to attack the Kremlin with two drones overnight and underscored its right to respond.
The incident occurred late on Tuesday night, and both unmanned aircraft fell on the grounds of the Kremlin in Moscow, according to the president’s office. His schedule was not affected.
“We consider this a preplanned terrorist action and an attempt against the Russian president,” it said adding that the incident happened “ahead of Victory Day and the parade on May 9, when foreign guests plan to be present.
Russia reserves the right to retaliate in a manner, place and time of its choosing, the statement noted.
Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that Russia considers drone attack attempt on President Putin's life.
It said no damage or casualties took place, and didn’t provide any other details.
The Kremlin added that President Vladimir Putin was safe and continued to work with his schedule unchanged.
