South Korea says North Korea fired ballistic missile toward its east

New Delhi: South Korea on Friday said North Korea has fired another ballistic missile toward its eastern waters, according to AP.

The South's Joint Chiefs of Staff says the launch was made on Friday but gave no further details.

Earlier on Thursday, North Korea launched a ballistic missile towards its eastern sea. 

According to South Korea's military, this comes hours after Pyongyang threatened to launch "fiercer" military measures against the US boosting its security commitment to its allies in the region. 

In a brief statement, the Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea said they detected the launch from North Korea. However, they did not provide any additional information, such as the weapon's flight path or the exact landing location.
