Hyderabad: Shares of Sigachi Industries tanked as much as 9.94% to ₹49.64 apiece on the NSE on Monday, June 30, following a fire incident at its Telangana plant.

A major reactor blast at Sigachi, a chemical unit in Pasamailaram, Patancheru, left several feared dead and many seriously injured.

As per initial reports, several people are feared dead with at least 14 people suffering injuries, police said.

A police official said injured people were rescued and they were shifted to hospitals.

The rescue operation was in progress, and their condition was not known immediately, he said.

Fire tenders were rushed to douse the fire.

Asked if it was an explosion, the official said it "looks like" one.
