34 consumers booked for stealing electricity in Thane district

Thane, Jan 9 (PTI) Cases have been registered against 34 consumers for allegedly stealing power worth Rs 5.32 lakh from Maharashtra’s Thane district, officials said on Friday.

The users were booked on complaints by the Titwala sub-division of the Maharashtra Electricity Distribution Company Limited, or Mahavitaran, they said.

The alleged theft was discovered during a campaign between October and December of last year, added the officials. PTI COR NR
