Bhadohi (UP), Jan 23 (PTI) An FIR has been registered against 35 people for allegedly blocking a road as they took out a candle march to protest the killing of a minor girl in the Suriyawan area of Bhadohi district in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday.
Five of the 35 people have been named in the FIR and the remaining will be identified through available video footage and photos, the police said, adding necessary action will be taken against them.
A young man allegedly shot dead a 15-year-old girl when she was returning home from coaching Wednesday evening over a love affair.
The accused, Arvind Vishwakarma (22) of Meenapur village in the Unj police station area, and his elder brother, Sunil, were arrested within 12 hours of the incident and sent to jail, Onj police station in-charge Chhotak Yadav said.
A group of people staged a protest Saturday demanding capital punishment to the accused.
They took out a candle march and blocked the Wahida-Surayawa road near the Ainch Canal culvert. In this connection, a case was registered on Sunday. PTI COR SAB SMN
