Ballia (UP), Nov 24 (PTI) Four policemen were injured in an encounter with two criminals from Bihar on Thursday, police said.
One of the criminals also got injured in this encounter, they said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Rasra) Shiv Narayan Vais said the encounter took place on the Ballia-Ghazipur highway when police intercepted Sunil Singh and Mukesh Chaudhary while they going towards Ghazipur on a motorcycle.
Following this, the duo opened fire at the police. Singh and four policemen got injured in the cross-firing, he said.
The criminals, residents of Bihar’s Siwan district, have been arrested and Singh has been admitted to a district hospital, he said.
A country-made weapon has been recovered from their possession, he said. PTI COR SAB NB NB
