Dehradun: Forty senior IAS officers of Uttarakhand have adopted their first place of posting to develop them further as desired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
The chief minister had asked the IAS officers to adopt and develop their first place of posting and contribute to the building of a developed nation and a developed state through the development of villages, an official release here said.
After this, an order was issued by Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan in which all the officers were also expected to comment about the pace of social and economic development in the villages adopted by them over the years and how it can be improved by the use of CSR funds or through other resources.
The officers also have to prepare an action plan for 100 per cent correct utilisation of the funds received from the district plan and Finance Commission for the development of the adopted villages.
The officials have started working for the development of the adopted villages. Many of them have stayed overnight in the villages and closely understood the lives of villagers and their problems.
After the action plan is prepared by the officials, the state government will run a campaign for the development of the villages. The officials are also getting the support of local public representatives and voluntary organisations in the effort.
