Amaravati, Jul 1 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who set off for Malakapalli village in East Godavari district in a helicopter from his home in Undavalli on Tuesday, shelved his journey in the initial stage due to adverse weather and shifted to a special flight, said a source.

Owing to inclement weather, the chief minister's helicopter landed in Gannavaram Airport where he changed plans to take a special flight to Rajahmundry, it said.

"He was going to Kovvuru from home. After crossing Gannavaram, the weather conditions in the forward region were not conducive, prompting the abandonment of the helicopter journey. He then shifted to a special flight and has already reached Rajahmundry," the source told PTI.

Naidu is now on his way to Malakapalli village in East Godavari district's Tallapudi mandal to participate in a welfare pensions disbursal programme. "I don't think it is an emergency landing, don't know if we can even categorise it as an emergency landing," said the source. PTI STH KH
