Amaravati, Jun 26 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday directed officials to spend funds from various central programmes towards capital expenditure.
Reviewing the Finance Department at his camp office, the CM said capital expenditure should be fashioned in such a manner that it will create wealth and generate revenue, along with the implementation of welfare programmes.
"Central funds under various programmes should be used for capital expenditure," said Naidu in an official release, adding that projects which create wealth and generate revenue should be given priority.
As part of the review with Finance Minister Payyaula Keshav, the CM took stock of the department's situation, income and expenditure.
He reviewed the expenditure on welfare schemes and development works, including funds spent on welfare pensions and programmes on a monthly basis.
Naidu also deliberated on the funds needed for various schemes and development works in the near future, said the release.
Further, he instructed officials to spend the funds procured from NABARD more on the Panchayat Raj Department. PTI STH KH
