Lucknow: Amidst rumours of dissent in the party, Union Minister and Apna Dal (Sonelal) national president Anupriya Patel on Wednesday issued a strong warning to those attempting to create rifts.
Speaking at the 'Jan Swabhiman Diwas' event held at Ravindralaya to mark Dr Sonelal Patel's birth anniversary, she asserted that the party remains "unyielding in its commitment to social justice" and is "not afraid of any conspiracy."
Apna Dal (S), part of the NDA, has 13 MLAs in the UP legislative Assembly.
Anupriya Patel emphasised that Dr Sonelal Patel's dream was for a caste census, a cause the party has supported since its inception. She lauded the central government's steps in this direction, calling it a move towards realising social and economic democracy.
Patel urged party workers to be wary of elements attempting to cause disintegration in the party, stating that "opposition and conspiracies are only against powerful and honest people."
She called upon members to resolve to make "Apna Dal (Sonelal) the number one party in the state."
Party national working president and Cabinet Minister Ashish Patel reiterated the party's dedication to social justice.
"We are committed to social justice. We stand with every victim and will respond to every attack and conspiracy," he said.
