"The Yoga Sutras for Children", published by Hachette India, aims to connect and relate the practice of Yoga to children's everyday lives and helps them use their mind power to bring out the best in themselves. It will hit the stands on June 27.

Peppered with 'Think' and 'Do' sections for a wholesome and interactive experience, the book shares Maharishi Patanjali's techniques to "nurture energies and attitudes, enabling them to do small and big things in a focused and balanced way".

"It seemed to me that Patanjali was the best kind of teacher – one who not only had the tools to turn his students into clear-thinking, laser-focused mind-ninjas, but also knew how to inspire and challenge them so that they stayed the course. That’s exactly what I hope the mysterious, mischievous Maharishi P in my book will do for young readers," said the Bengaluru-based children's author in a statement.

Featuring black-and-white artwork by illustrator Sayan Mukherjee, the book helps young readers to approach their increasingly complex lives with positivity and confidence.

According to the publishers, Pai, in this "surprising" and "sparkling" book, unravels the secrets of Patanjali’s compact 2,000-year-old text in ways both fun and accessible.

"The very gifted Roopa Pai once again brings an ancient classic text close to children, who will be surprised and fascinated by how much it can help them become calmer, clear-headed and more confident," said Vatsala Kaul Banerjee, publisher (children’s and young adult books) at Hachette India.
