Kolkata, Jun 22 (PTI) A massive fire in a warehouse-cum factory complex at Barasat in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district was brought under control as Fire Brigade personnel worked to cool down the gutted place, an official said on Sunday.
The blaze, which broke out on Saturday evening, affected nearly three lakh square feet area in the complex, the Fire Brigade official said.
He said that apart from a few paint factories, the complex housed warehouses for televisions, air conditioners, etc.
Superintendent of Barasat police district, Pratiksha Jharkhariya said that no one was reported to be injured in the incident.
She said that the complex at Kadambagachi in Barasat, around 25 km from Kolkata, was still so heated that it was difficult for anyone to enter.
The Fire Brigade official said that ten fire tenders were pressed into service to cool down the warehouse-cum factory complex.
At least 20 fire tenders were pressed into service on Saturday evening to bring the massive blaze which broke out around 7.30 pm under control.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, an official said. PTI COR AMR RG
