Arrested in Faridabad over 'fighting' with guards and police, CBI sends back its Inspector to parent cadre

CBI sources said as a zero-tolerance policy against those facing such charges, the official was ordered to report back to his parent cadre after cutting short his tenure.

Interestingly, the official had joined the CBI on deputation from GST and Customs department's Guwahati zone in the middle of last month only and he was posted in the agency's unit dealing with bank frauds.

The incident comes just after the arrest of four CBI sub-inspectors on the charges of conducting a fake raid in Chandigarh by the agency itself. All four were dismissed from service by the agency.

The CBI has recommended to his parent cadre a suitable departmental action in this regard, added agency sources.

Faridabad police spokesman Sube Singh told this correspondent that the city police had received a call on Sunday night around 10.20 pm that two females and three males were fighting with guards of a residential society in sector 87. When the local police reached at the spot, they entered into a scuffle with policemen too. One of them was identified as CBI Inspector Ashish Solanki and the other two males were his brothers-in-law.

The local police registered an FIR against them and arrested all three. All three were produced before the designated court in Faridabad on Monday.
