Hamirpur (HP), Jun 20 (PTI) Buddhist monk Bhikshu Jamyang has said India is a country that respects all religions and added this feeling of unity in diversity is what makes the nation strong and special.

Jamyang, the director of Dharamshala's Tonglen Charitable Trust, said the people of all faiths are accepted in India and they are free to follow their religion.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 21-day long Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Karyakarta Vikas Varg Pratham camp in Tipper village of Hamirpur district last night, Jamyang said this is the reason why the Tibetans have been able to keep their religion and culture safe on this land.

"As I stand before you -- the empowered and disciplined youth of India -- I feel hopeful and proud. I believe the future of India is safe in your hands. Your dedication, discipline and love for the country will take India to even greater heights," he added.

The Tibetan monk also congratulated the RSS on completing 100 years of service to the nation by improving health, education, bringing people together and preserving India's rich culture.

"The RSS teaches the youth to be disciplined, kind and love their country. Your work shows how simple people with good values can make a big difference in society," he said.

Jamyang also expressed his gratitude to the government, people and local authorities for giving Tibetans the right to live and work in this great country.

Asserting that India welcomed Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama with love and respect when we entered the nation in 1959 in difficult times, he said that not only him, but all Tibetans were given kindness, protection and a place to live.

Meanwhile, RSS All India Co-Promotion chief Pradeep Joshi while addressing the volunteers present on the occasion said that India has now awakened and it now has the tremendous courage and right to weaken its enemies by striking them decisively.

Joshi said that 'Operation Sindoor' was a living example of this and India's step to give an effective message to the world.

This has brought promising and far-reaching results from the point of view of national security. Along with this, the whole world has also experienced India's military power as a result of this campaign, he added.

Joshi said the reason for awakening of such power and faith in national society is the result of hundred years of 'Sangh Sadhna Yatra'.

He added the time has today come to activate every person from every sphere of social life, even the last person of the society, in the interest of the nation.
