New Delhi: A 23-year-old cab driver was found dead with multiple stab wounds in a park in south Delhi's Kishangarh on Monday morning, police said.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder, they said.
Nitesh Khatri was found in a pool of blood inside a park by the police who responded to a morning walker's call around 6 am.
His body bore stab wounds near his ear, abdomen, and other parts, an officer said.
Two men, Mohit Mehlawat and Lucky, both aged 23 and unemployed, have been arrested in connection with the murder, the officer said.
According to the police, there was bad blood between Nitesh and the two.
Around two-and-a-half years ago, during a fight, Nitesh and his associates beat and humiliated Mohit and Lucky. Although no complaint was filed at the time, the incident left both accused nursing a grudge.
On October 26, the two intercepted Nitesh near the park and knifed him.
"The motive behind the killing has been established as revenge. The accused held a long-standing grudge against the deceased over an earlier altercation," the officer said.
Police have recovered the knives and took custody of the blood-stained clothes of the accused and the mobile phone of Nitesh.
"The murder was planned by Mohit and Lucky to settle scores with Nitesh. After killing him, they fled from the spot, but were traced and arrested soon after based on CCTV footage," the officer added.
