Container from ship washes ashore at Palghar; probe underway

Palghar, Jul 22 (PTI) A container fell off a ship and washed ashore in Maharashtra's Palghar district on Tuesday morning, prompting the security agencies to rush to the site, an official said.

The container was spotted on Kalam beach in Nalla Sopara around 8 am, said district disaster management chief Vivekanand Kadam.

Personnel from the local police, Coast Guard, and Customs department rushed to the spot, and a probe is underway, he added. PTI COR ARU
