Noida, Aug 22 (PTI) A couple riding a motorcycle in a Bollywood-style pose on a Noida road without helmets has landed in trouble after the traffic police slapped a challan of more than Rs 53,000 on the owner of the vehicle for multiple violations, officials said on Friday.

A video of the couple performing the bike stunt went viral on social media recently, showing the woman sitting on the fuel tank and hugging the man while he drove the two-wheeler recklessly. Neither of them wore helmets, the officials said.

Taking note of the violations, the traffic police identified the motorcycle and issued an e-challan to its owner, Sohel Khan, a resident of Delhi's Malviya Nagar. The incident took place on June 15 in Noida, according to the challan details that emerged on Friday.

"The challan amount of Rs 53,500 has been imposed under various provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, including for dangerous driving, driving without helmets, violation of traffic rules, racing and trial of speed without permission, driving without a valid licence, and disobedience of lawful directions by authorities," a senior police officer said.

Police warned commuters against such stunts on public roads, saying they pose a danger to both the riders and others. PTI KIS RC
