New Delhi, Jun 27 (PTI) Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Verma said the national capital had to be "smart and beautiful" and the government was working on infrastructure projects, including one on building the Yamuna riverfront.

Speaking at a function for women entrepreneurs in the real estate sector on Friday, Verma invited suggestions from those working in the real estate sector on how to develop these initiatives.

Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Verma also listed out several achievements of the BJP government at the Centre in the past 11 years in the field of women empowerment.

"Our goal is to make a smart and beautiful city. The Delhi government is working on a Yamuna riverfront project and other projects. I invite suggestions from the real estate sector on how we can move further on this," Verma said.

Giving a list of central government schemes for women's empowerment, the minister said, "Be it Ujjwala Yojna, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Sukanya Samridhhi Yojna, Mudra Yojna, Lakhpati Didi, Mission Shakti, women in defence etc. There are so many empowerment schemes that have been launched which are bringing about a change on ground," the PWD minister said.

Verma also said that the real-estate sector has traditionally been dominated by men, however there is a change and more women entrepreneurs are entering the field. PTI SSM SKY SKY
