At approximately 11:20 am local time, the tremors sent shockwaves through the bustling commercial hub of Lal Chowk in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.

Witnesses reported buildings swaying and trees visibly shaking, adding to the atmosphere of confusion and alarm. Dark clouds loomed overhead while chirping birds filled the air as they fluttered anxiously amidst the unsettling environment.

As the tremors intensified, shopkeepers and Sunday shoppers quickly evacuated the buildings, seeking refuge in designated safe zones. In some areas, traffic came to a halt as cautious motorists pulled over to ensure their safety. Reports have also confirmed that the seismic activity was felt in various districts of both South and North Kashmir.

Fortunately, no significant damage or casualties have been reported thus far. The authorities and emergency services closely monitor the situation and urge residents to remain calm and vigilant.
