Srinagar: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district on Friday, police said.
The gunfight started in the Pattan area of the north Kashmir district.
"Encounter has started at Chak Tapper Kreeri Pattan area of #Baramulla," the Kashmir Zone Police said in a post on X.
Indian Army in an X post on Saturday said, "Based on specific intelligence input regarding presence of terrorists, a Joint Operation was launched by #IndianArmy & @JmuKmrPolice on the intervening night of 13-14 Sep 24 in general area Chak Tapar Kreeri, Baramulla. Contact was established and firefight ensued."
