Bhopal, Jul 10 (PTI) Former Vice-Chancellor of Bhopal-based Bhoj Open University, Kamlakar Singh, on Thursday demanded restoration of signboards which identify Kolar Road in the city as 'Raja Bhoj Marg'.

Singh has written a letter to the Madhya Pradesh government requesting that nameplates and signboards be installed on this road again as per the decision taken in 2008.

Raja Bhoj was the Paramara-era king of the Malwa region from 1010 till his death in 1055.

Singh said during his tenure as the VC of the university, he had sent a letter to the Governor with a request to name the Kolar Road as 'Raja Bhoj Marg', which was agreed. He added that since the road was developed into a six-lane route, the name of Raja Bhoj is not visible anywhere as the signboards were either damaged or misplaced. PTI MAS NP
