Fire at furniture shop in central Kolkata

Kolkata, Jan 14 (PTI) A fire broke out at a furniture shop in central Kolkata's congested BB Ganguly Street on Wednesday morning, an official said.

Ten fire engines were working to douse the blaze, which broke out around 11 am, he said.

"The cause of the fire is not yet to be known. Firefighters are working to douse it," the Fire and Emergency Services official said.

No one has been injured in the blaze, he said.

Traffic on the BB Ganguly Street has been regulated to facilitate the firefighting operations, he added. PTI SCH SOM
