Fire at makeshift plastic godowns in Kolkata

Kolkata, Jul 30 (PTI) Fire ravaged a few temporary plastic godowns off the EM Bypass in Kolkata on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

No one was injured in the blaze, which broke out around 2.15 pm behind a 5-star hotel, they said.

"Four fire tenders were pressed into service, and it took less than 30 minutes to douse the blaze," an officer of the Pragati Maidan police station said.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, he said. PTI SCH SOM
