Fire breaks out at shoe manufacturing unit in Kolkata's Anandapur

Kolkata, Aug 23 (PTI) Fire broke out at a footwear manufacturing unit in east Kolkata's Anandapur area on Saturday, officials said.

Four fire engines have been deployed to douse the blaze that broke out in the congested Gulshan Colony, they said.

The flames were spotted around 2.20 pm, they added.

The unit was shut, and there was no report of anyone trapped inside, officials said.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, they said. PTI SUS SOM
