Former West Bengal minister Upen Kisku dies at 73

Kolkata, Dec 25 (PTI) Former West Bengal minister Upen Kisku died at a private hospital in Bankura, the CPI(M) said on Thursday.

Kisku, 73, was undergoing treatment at a private hospital for serious head injuries after suffering a fall at his home.

A seven-time MLA of Raipur in Bankura, the tribal leader was a minister in the Left Front government. He held portfolios like the SC, ST, and OBC Welfare.

He breathed his last at the hospital on Wednesday night, the party said. PTI AMR SOM
