Four killed, two injured as SUV hits road divider in MP’s Rajgarh district

Rajgarh, Jun 19 (PTI) Four persons, including two children, were killed and two others injured when the sports utility vehicle (SUV) they were travelling in hit a road divider in Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district on Thursday, police said.

The accident occurred around 7 am when a family was on its way from Gonda in Uttar Pradesh to Surat in Gujarat, said inspector Ramesh Jat from Karwas police station.

The person at the wheel told the police that he lost control of the SUV, which had seven occupants, after dozing off and hit a road divider.

Two women and two children died in the accident, while two others were injured.

“The driver, identified as Bola, escaped with minor injuries as he had put on his seat belt. His airbag deployed too,” the official said. The deceased included Bola’s wife and sister, he said.

The injured have been admitted to a hospital, the official added. PTI LAL NR
