Four MLCs empowered to conduct Maharashtra Council's proceedings in chairman's absence

Mumbai, Jun 30 (PTI) Maharashtra Legislative Council chairman Ram Shinde on Monday announced a panel comprising four legislators who will preside over the Upper House of the state legislature in his absence.

"Idris Naikawadi of the NCP, Amit Gorkhe of the BJP, Krupal Tumane of Shiv Sena, and Dr Pradnya Satav of Congress have been nominated to the panel," Shinde told the legislative council on the first day of the monsoon session of the state legislature.

The panel members are empowered to conduct the proceedings of the legislative council in the chairman's absence.

Later, the Chairman read out a condolence message for renowned astrophysicist Dr Jayant Narlikar, who passed away recently. PTI ND NSK
