Geeta Press delegation meets President Murmu, presents Odia books

Gorakhpur (UP), Jul 1 (PTI) A seven-member delegation from the iconic Gita Press met President Droupadi Murmu at the Circuit House here on Tuesday morning.

The delegation presented her three books in Odia language and a special edition of 'Kalyan', a Hindi publication focused on environmental issues, Geeta Press manager Lalmani Tripathi said.

During the 10-11 minutes meeting, President Murmu enquired them about the details of the books and appreciated the efforts of Gita Press in promoting Odia language.

The books presented to the President included 'Geeta Sadhak Sanjeevani', 'Bhakta Charitamrita' and a matchbox-sized edition of the 'Bhagavad Gita'.

The delegation comprised Geeta Press trustees Devi Dayal Agrawal and Ishwar Prasad Patwari, members Ajay Prakash Agrawal and Madhav Prasad Jalan, manager Lalmani Tripathi, and members Arvika Garg and Radheshyam Agrawal.

On Monday night, during a ceremonial dinner at the Gorakhnath Temple, Geeta Press trustees Devi Dayal Agrawal and manager Dr Lalmani Tripathi had also presented the President with Odia translations of 'Bhagavat' by Jagannath Das and a condensed version of the 'Shiva Purana'. PTI COR ABN ABN RUK RUK
