Govt committed to sustainable development in Uttarakhand: CM Dhami

Dehradun, Oct 10 (PTI) Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, reiterating his government's commitment to sustainable development, said on Friday that a nine-point policy has been launched in the state to ensure a balance between the economy and the environment.

Inaugurating the 24th annual conference of the Indian Association of Social Science Institutions (IASSI) at Doon University here, Dhami said that the government is working with full commitment and determination to achieve the sustainable development goals while maintaining economic, social, and environmental sustainability in the state.

He said, "The government has launched a nine-point policy to ensure a balance between the economy and the environment, which is an important initiative towards achieving the sustainable development goals." More than 400 delegates from across the country are participating in this three-day conference, where they will deliberate on issues such as sustainable development, climate resilience, and livelihood security, particularly in the context of the Himalayan regions.
