Gurugram, Sep 19 (PTI) Unusual scenes were witnessed at a women's police station in Sector 51 here, when a woman and her husband, who arrived there regarding a dowry harassment case filed by the former, started beating each other inside the police station premises.

The fight became so violent that additional personnel were required to break them apart, police said on Friday.

According to a complaint filed by head constable Neelam, a Pooja, resident of Kanhai village, had filed a complaint against her husband, Manish, and in-laws over dowry harassment and domestic violence.

Following this, the police initiated an inquiry into the complaint, and both parties were called to the police station on Thursday.

The complainant, Pooja, arrived with her family, while Manish reached the police station with his father and other family members.

Neelam, in her complaint, noted that "when I was questioning the two parties, an argument broke out between them. Within no time, it turned into verbal abuse and then physical assault." Following the head constable's complaint, an FIR was registered under relevant sections of the BNS, and the police arrested Pooja, her husband, in-laws and other family members.

However, later, the accused were released on bail, and they joined the probe regarding the dowry case, said a senior police officer. PTI COR AMJ AMJ
