Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took a dig at NCP (SP) leader Jayant Patil on Monday after the latter sought the implementation of the direct benefit transfer scheme, a flagship initiative of the Narendra Modi government, in the state's labour welfare schemes.
Patil, while referring to a calling attention notice in the assembly on irregularities in implementation of the construction workers welfare board initiatives, said Modi speaks of the use of direct benefit transfer (DBT) in all welfare schemes and asked why the mechanism was not in place for the state's labour welfare schemes.
In a tongue-in-cheek response, Fadnavis said, "I am happy to note that you are speaking positively about Modiji's work."
