Jaipur, Jul 15 (PTI) Heavy rains lashed most parts of Rajasthan on Tuesday, disrupting normal life in low-lying areas and leading to the cancellation of the Sabarmati-Jodhpur Express.
The Meteorological department has warned of more heavy rains at many places.
The highest rainfall of 183.0 mm was recorded at Bijolia in Bhilwara followed by Bhainsrodgarh in Chittorgarh, 136 mm in Makrana in Nagaur), 127 mm in Niwai in Tonk, 117.0 mm in Mandana in Kota and 102 mm in Sambhar in Jaipur.
Officials said waterlogging on the tracks on the Pali Marwar-Bomadada railway section of the North Western Railway led to cancellation of the train.
The weather office said there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in some parts of Kota, Ajmer and Jodhpur divisions, while moderate to heavy rains will continue in Bikaner, Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions.
Heavy rains are also expected in some parts of Jodhpur, Bikaner and Ajmer divisions on July 16.
Heavy rain activities in eastern Rajasthan will decrease from July 17, and in western Rajasthan from July 18, they added. PTI AG APL APL DV DV
