Shimla, Oct 30 (PTI) Himachal Pradesh Education Minister Rohit Thakur on Thursday assessed the progress of various initiatives and educational schemes running across the state. He presided over a review meeting with senior officers from the Education department.
Thakur reviewed the implementation of several important initiatives, including the restructuring of directorates, the Mukhyamantri Bal Poshtik Aahar Yojana, digital attendance, international exposure visits for teachers, Apna Vidyalaya Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi Model Day Boarding Schools, and the affiliation of schools to CBSE.
The minister stated that over the past three years, various transformative initiatives had been undertaken by the state government to enhance the quality of education.
"As many as 7,000 regular recruitments in different categories of teachers have been made, and the process is underway to fill more than 9,000 additional posts, including 1,170 TGTs, 1,762 JBTs, 37 lecturers (PWD), 69 C&V, and 6,292 NTT teachers," he said.
He directed officials to expedite the recruitment process to ensure the timely filling of vacancies in educational institutions.
"The reforms undertaken by the state government are yielding positive results, leading to an improved ranking in providing quality education," he added. The minister expressed satisfaction that Himachal Pradesh had been declared a fully literate state and commended the efforts of the Education department.
He also mentioned that an induction training program had been started for newly recruited teachers to ensure they are up-to-date with the latest teaching practices. The Minister stressed the importance of regular school inspections to maintain accountability and directed Deputy Directors to frequently visit schools to foster a better learning environment.
Secretary of Education, Rakesh Kanwar, emphasized the need to develop the practice of sharing resources between different levels of schools for the optimal utilization of human and physical resources. PTI COR HIG HIG
