Shimla, Jun 24 (PTI) Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Tuesday paid tribute to the state's longest serving chief minister Virbhadra Singh on his fourth death anniversary, according to a statement.
The governor attended a tribute ceremony at the Padam Palace complex in Rampur in here. He paid homage and remembered him as a towering statesman, visionary leader and devoted public servant.
Speaking at the event, Shukla highlighted Singh's firm commitment to preserving the spiritual and cultural identity of Himachal Pradesh. He said, "By enacting legislation against religious conversions, the former CM worked with dedication to protect the sanctity and cultural fabric of this Dev Bhoomi".
"His efforts reflected a deep sense of responsibility towards maintaining the purity and heritage of the state", Shukla said.
"Raja Sahib's (Virbhadra Singh) immense contributions to the holistic development of Himachal Pradesh are deeply etched in the hearts of its people, and his life of service continues to inspire generations," he added.
