'Jana Nayagan' censor certification row: Producers withdraw petition in Madras HC

Chennai (PTI): The producers of actor-turned-politician Vijay-starrer movie 'Jana Nayagan' on Tuesday withdrew their petition in the Madras High Court against the Censor Board.

The producers, KVN Production, had already written to the Madras High Court Registry apprising them of their intent to withdraw the case against the Censor Board.

Vijay recently launched his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).

'Jana Nayagan', which is widely publicised as Vijay’s final film before his full-fledged entry into politics, was slated for a Pongal release on January 9.

However, the film ran into last-minute hurdles after the CBFC did not issue certification on time.
